Microwave Custard

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup cornstarch

2 c milk

yolks from 3 large eggs

3 tbs butter

1 tsp vanilla

Combine sugar and cornstarch in microwave safe bowl (2 qt). Gradually whisk in milk, then egg yolks until well blended. Microwave uncovered for 2 minutes; stir; microwave for 1-1/2 minutes; stir. Continue cooking for 1 more minute. Whisk in butter and vanilla and stir until smooth.
